Don Pacifico Financially it's still disappointing, but £18m rising to £25m (albeit under slightly unlikely circumstances) with a possible sell-on clause is better than I've predicted. I was pretty convinced we wouldn't shift him at all till a day ago, so the situation looks far brighter today. The amount we're looking to shell out on Garcia reminds me of "two number ones" all over again however.

Claudius Once you sell better it's easier to sell better. No one doubts the quality of City's bench players. Win the league and see Emile and Eddie prosper at Fulham and Palace (or even Fabio at Porto) and our fringe players will become more valuable.

Ramsdale still has £12m of salary to pay. Compare with Mamardashvili who would make £3m over the same 2 years and went for £6m more all in.
we will basically get £24m in these circumstances. The deal is £6m player performance and £1m relegation. The £1m is what is at risk because of the team involved. In a down market, this is really good work.
Contrast with De Gaea who left United last year free, and Kepa who left Chelsea on loan this year.

Yup I think during the window was a different story, even then only if we get a top player as he is too valuable for us to let go.

Can't do that deal with the window closed. Even if they offered £50m. Squad would be terribly short without him, he's too versatile and covers too many positions.
