Burnwinter I wonder if we can re-integrate Tierney in the squad. He was never a bad player just not Zinchenko. It makes more sense to have him than ship him out for that amount.

Cannon No one could doubt Tierney's application or quality, but Arteta doesn't play him and to be fair to Arteta, his attributes no longer fit our football. I'd rather he leave on a free than remain, because I've got some respect for Tierney.

Nope. He was a decent defender, but quite technically limited. Really no point in keeping these Cedric Soares types. Even if not immediately ready to push for a first team place, I would want to see young prospects like Kiwior in the squad, over older and injury prone players like Tierney.

flobaba Yeah, well it sounds like we'd listen to offers for Kiwior too, and lots of rumors of Milan sniffing around for him. But i agree about Tierney. He was a decent stop-gap for us when we were pushing to get back to the top 4, but not someone who would ever play any kind of a major role in a title chasing side.

How much would you guys pay for a 27 year old defender who is on £110,000? This season, he’s
played 20 La Liga games. Started 14 of those and was subbed out in 12. And he’s averaging over 20 games missed per season over the last 5 seasons due to a variety of injuries - hip, ankle, hamstring, abductor.

HomeSteak somewhat concerning that Obi-Martin is set to leave. Seems to be a trend developing.

Qwiss Have read it is due to the rules being different abroad meaning they can sign players up to contracts when they're 16 whereas it is 17 here.

JazzG guess it's karma for the years we tried poaching Europe's youth talents.

On Obi-Martin, it's a shame if he goes but has anyone seen anything to suggest he's a top tier talent? Not sure I have yet.

Don Pacifico I mean he's scoring an insane amount of goals. Hard to tell right now as he's only 16, he could be the next Jay Emaneul Thomas but he could also be the next superstar striker. Its a shame we don't get to see how it unfolds here.

Qwiss yeah, I've seen the goals but looks like he may be benefitting from his physique in that age group. Agree that it's a shame not see if we can harness that into something more.

If we don't ever blood youth, youth won't stick around. That's why those Champions League minutes quite a few people scoffed about wouldn't have been a waste.

Don Pacifico definitely benefiting from his physique but plenty of strikers at first team level also benefit from that. Its not like he's going to get smaller.

Don Pacifico yeah but they'll have said the same about Haaland. Like I say he could JET but he could keep dominating. Its still not great to lose the guys who are dominating the youth game.

The last person to score so many goals at youth level didn't really fare super well when it went to adult level. Dortmund's Moukouko. I mean he did score at adult level but hardly setting the world alight.

i'm all for players moving if they aren't getting a chance, but they're leaving for clubs that will just loan them out and treat them the same way we do. bayern isn't going to give him a pathway to the first team that's different from us. he'll be the next zirkee. omari hutchinson left us to do the same things with chelsea, unless he and his advisors felt arsenal were incapable of sending him on loan to ipswitch. i guess it comes down to money and getting some in case it doesn't work out for you like everyone is predicting.

Meatwad It's a win win for Omari though. Got better wage there, and now is going to get a big move abroad. Win win for Chelsea too, got a player free and will now cash in great money in terms of FFP since he's counted as HG

You've got to think about these things with the mindset of a frustrated teenager. There's a big difference between the club that's already let you down and the club you can still fantasise will be special.

Put it another way, we'd all have been sweating placing a bet on this kid getting to play five senior minutes next season. So off he goes.

Clrnc exactly. Had Hutchinson in mind with this. Even if Obi Martin isn't good enough for us he'll probably have value. Losing kids ds you've put all that time and effort into isn't good.
