Zinchenko is somewhat over-qualified on the ball, and under-qualified defensively and athletically for the role we've got him in, he lacks "specificity". We do benefit from his touch and precision most of the time, but not from his relative lack of foot speed, size and aggression in the tackle. Not least because he gets targeted—my hope is that'll stop with Calafiori. It'd be interesting to see how a competition between Calafiori and Timber played out, it'll be adaptation versus injury recovery, and either could end up a bona fide squaddie if the other shines.

Seems everyone agrees with you on this except the clubs looking to sign a player. Haven't heard much about Zinchenko's links to Bayern lately.

Ornstein reporting we are close to agreeing a £35m deal with Fulham for ESR. Would be sad to see him go but that's a great fee and I hope he absolutely kills it there.

good deal, but im really sad to see him leave. he's a wonderful player to watch. I'll be tuning in to some Fulham games to see how he getting on. jury's out if he got a fair chance in the last 18 months.

That is very good work from Edu & co., have to give them credit. They’ve consciously identified a sales target this summer, are trying to get better at it, and it’s looking better this summer. I know that £35m number is with add-ons but that’s basically the same as we’re paying for Calafiori.

Mid table PL teams, especially London ones, is a great path for our academy products. Fulham can spend £35m on a player who hasn’t played in two years…

CPM if we get £55-60m for ESR and Nketiah, would be great. Time for Nelson to also make himself useful.

Next year’s men can be Martinelli or Vieira if they don’t get their shit together.

He will out score all our front 3 bar Saka next year, easy 10 goals and 5-6 assists for him no matter if he plays on the left or as a number 10.

Sad to see him go but it’s the best for the club and player. Still remember when Arteta first bought him into the side against Chelsea and we were in the gutter, he was the bright spark and seemed to transform how we played.

Always had high hopes for him, remember reading reports about him when he was young and you could sense he had real talent. But his problem has always been his fitness, for years now he has struggled to get on top it.

JazzG he was fit and in the squad for 31 games out of 38 last season. He was just never used. We have a lot of more injury prone player in the team then him

Not been this sad about a player leaving Arsenal for a long time. There's definitely a strong possibility Arsenal will end up regretting selling Emile, and we can all argue the toss on whether he's had a fair shake over the last year, but it's not like he hasn't been able to get into a team that's struggling. Ultimately, his body has let him down at the same time as the team has taken flight.

HomeSteak I just think Arsenal - and more specifically, Arteta - have moved past him. Whenever that's right or wrong, time will tell but it's very hard to argue against what has been happening in his absence. Unexpected title challenge one season, record number of Premier League wins the next.

I don't know if extra minutes for him last season might have pushed us over the edge, but Arteta clearly didn't think so. One thing is for sure, he's too good not to be playing somewhere.

HomeSteak I remember him missing a sizeable chunk throughout the middle of the season, seemed a lot longer than 8 games to me. Problem for ESR is he can either play in Odegaard's position or Martinelli and if we are honest we shouldn't be dropping either for him.

Football careers are over before you know it, he's 23 and needs to go to a team where he can minutes and hopefully become the player we know he can be.
