Burnwinter Was mainly supporting Spain because of the English fans behaviours, before, during and after the match. Some really disgraceful behaviour all round. But I guess the theory of most of them being from small clubs supporters stands as most of them carry flags from Charlton, Oldham, Barnsley, Sheffield, Chelsea to name a few. Now I understand why England fans get such a bad rep.
Back to the match itself, superb showing by Spain. Dominated the match and glad attacking football prevailed. England got the better individuals, but by playing so defensively it nullified their strengths. As shown in the past 40 years, save Greece and Portugal 16, most of the winners dominates possession and generally plays positive football. This Spain side will go down as one of the best in the history surely, won all 7 matches and 6 of them against top teams. England once again benefitted from the luck of draw to make the final but it was really despite Southgate. He got to go really, can't believe Taa and Gordon was so unused throughout.
Olmo was absolutely brilliant. Thought Palmer was really good when he came on. Watkins twice the player Kane is in such a setup as well. Saka best English player, Guehi and Shaw are positives as well. Walker absolutely awful defensively and provided nothing going forward as well. He made Cucuruella look like Roberto Carlos.
What a night. Goodbye Berlin.
