Need to see more of Sesko, as what I have seen of him so far hasn't been that impressive...

Sesko looks great, I think he has a lot of talent. Both big and quick and will get stronger as he gets into his 20s. Clearly can handle the physicality of the Premier League. A bit loose with his touches but he sees the game and directs them well. A clean and venomous striker of the ball, who also gets great power and accuracy on his headers. I think he will be great when he can run into space, remains to be seen what he can be against packed defenses. He seems to have played in a counterattacking setup at Leipzig and we don’t see him operating in tight spaces very often. Can he be a target man and give us hold-up play? I worry about his somewhat heavy touch in combination play around the box. Can he make the smaller and subtler striker’s movements against a low block? But man he has great tools to work with.

to seriously attempt to overtake man city, i feel like we cannot miss with our new striker. it cant be a project, or someone who needs 2-3 years to come good. im not even going to comment on sesko or whatever his name is, because i honestly havent watched much non-arsenal football the last 2 years as ive had less time to do so. we obviously cant get mbappe (and never could), but like, who is the 4th best striker in the world? the 5th best? can we get them? i know there are very few sure things in life, i just want someone who can score 20 goals next season.

mdgoonah41 I think if we continue with Havertz as the 9, with Sesko giving more minutes than Eddie did as a quality backup, Kai will be between 15-20 goals this year. We can introduce Sesko slowly to the demands of the EPL while giving him more and more minutes throughout the year. My ideal scenario is that Sesko starts to really hit his stride in the second half of the year and demand more minutes, much like he did with Leipzig this year. It would be a good problem to have if we are then forced with the dilemma of who to start up top.

QuincyAbeyie first of all, no way he's as fast as Mbappe. Secondly, Sesko is compared to Erling Haaland, only with better foot work. Gazelle esk, Terminator esk. Lol

I'd rather not imagine that tbh. Most physical XI or otherwise, Odegaard has to be in there. Might not be your typical physical freak but he more than holds his own in a physical battle.

Big Willie Agreed. There's a common misconception that physicality comes from size - as long as a player is tenacious and aggressive enough that can more than make up for an difference in stature.

I've not watched Sesko so no idea where he fits in this picture, but I look at the rest of that midfield and see it as a step back when it comes to our failings in the Champions League. I don't see more comfort, I don't see better technique, I don't see more presence.

onana is a decent player, but ultimately he shouldnt be a mainstay for an elite team chasing the biggest prozes. getting him means going the liverpool route of graft over craft in midfield. doesn't work unless you have proper direct killers up front, which we don't.

Don't think thats the case. Ferguson has excellent movement and is constantly on the go, I'd say thats one of his biggest strengths having watched him live quite a few times. He plays similarly to Kane IMO but he has to show more consistency in his game and his fitness. DeZerbi going is probably the best thing for him. If he a new manager doesn't promise to make him the number 1 striker he should move.

It’s all about balance and yes Odegaard has his place and rightly so.

Onana would give an alternative to Rice and would be a good replacement for Partey and Elneny.

Our footy relies on a physical and mean defence.

We need him and we need some stardust in the attack. Simons please!

I am a fan of Onana as well, especially at the 6. I don't think you can watch how he plays with Everton and project realistically his game in our side since they don't allow him to show the technical ability he has with line breaking passes that he's shown in the brief times I've seen him playing for Belgium. He strikes me as the type of player that would really flourish in a more technical, attacking side where his responsibilities are limited and he can focus on his strengths - namely winning duels, transitioning play quickly and aerial ability.

samthegooner I think many thought Rice wasn't technical enough but has been fine. I think he'd be a great signing for us, apart from Rice we have no legs in midfield. Take advantage of Everton's situation and get him!

Though his signing must be complimented with a Frenkie/Neves/Kimmich type signing as well.

However I would say that if we were willing to spend 50m plus on Onana, I'd probably rather take a shot at Adam Wharton to see if we can turn Palace's head. He looks like the real deal and would be a perfect Rice partner.

Or actually a more apt comparison will be Carrick.
