Zinchenko had a stellar 1st half of last season but it's been 18 months since consistent good form and in the last 6-7 months he's routinely made some horrendous mistakes. It's not just 1-2 mistakes, he's literally made mistakes in most of the games in that period where we've lost points. I don't see the point of him in midfield. For one- He is defensively lacking and also has no mobility. It may work for Ukraine who don't necessarily have that talent in midfield in abundance but I look at a team wanting to improve from 89 points onwards and I don't want to waste that on some experiment. 2 years left on his deal. Best to cash in now.
Jesus was very good also in the first 6 months but then he's been a bit inconsistent and that injury was terrible. It seems he's having another procedure in the summer so hopefully that cleans up his knee. Next season it's really make or break for him.
Anybody thinking Emile should be kept is just not thinking rationally. He's a decently talented player but has not been missed at all in the last 2 years when we've gone up a level. He doesn't fit in anywhere for a regular position in this squad. Neither in the front 3 nor in midfield.
ESR, Nelson, Nketiah - Can't really on filler players. Only Eddie amongst them has really contributed in the last 2 years but I think at 25 he needs more than the odd game we give him.
