It shows how we are progressing though, if the players can't keep up then they need to be moved aside.

I think I am done with Partey too, the way Onana owned him was very telling. He is not up for it anymore

The signs were there last season, that game away at Man City last season he looked like he had lead in his boots. Contrast to this season where Rice was on his skates the City players couldn't find a solution.

It is a shame in hindsight we didn't shift him last season and bring in another player. We need to make sure we either get a ready made player in FDJ or get a shit hot talent like Neves.

Have said though we might need another CM, another physical player because apart from Rice we don't have any legs in midfield.

Zinchenko was useful to a certain extent but he ultimately cost us badly in the run in due to his mistakes.

Pep ditched him now Arteta learned his mistake too

I think Zinchenko was superb for us last season, people dislike him for various reasons but no doubt for me he played a major role in improving our possession and driving us forward. He helped us pin teams back and let Xhaka play a free role where he thrived for us.

In the end his defending was just too inconsistent for LB but I've never understood why we didn't try him in midfield more. He plays there for Ukraine and looks decent.

Yeah I meant Zinchenko. However the season ended, you can't deny he transformed how we played for the bulk of the year and played a key part in our 50 point first half season. You have to loo at it through the prism of someone who helped take us from 5th to a close 2nd.

JazzG bit of a sliding doors moment, us going for jesus over isak in 2022. isak was always the higher risk high reward option, with doubts about his durability. not sure we'd be better off in the last 2 season if we'd had isak given his injury issues, but maybe we would've been better off in the long run.

Seems to me that we are in talks with Newcastle about something and journos are speculating on whether its Bruno or Isak. They don't really know whats going on beyond that we are talking.

Most reports suggest Isak isn't going anywhere this summer. Saw a report that Wilson is going to be put up for sale instead who I can imagine fetching a decent amount for them.

So if we are talking to them it's more likely Burno.

We're probably the most appealing destination in football now, barring Madrid for a certain type of player.

Burnwinter I would agree. We have london as a pull as well over the Manchester cheats.

Italian players still prefer Juve, German players Bayern and some have Barca as their dream club but other than that I can't think of any other club

Gazza M Wasn't Isak release clause something like £70m? From what I remember Sociedad said it was release clause or nothing! At the time I did really think a lot of Isak but that kind of money was simply out of our reach. Back then we didn't have CL football and had a lot of other areas in the squad to address.

Gazza M jesus has missed more time with injuries then Isak. And could never, can't now and will never ever in his life be able to score goals.
