I'll take the win and the excitement of those few minutes before half time today. It was the most I expected from this last day and I'm happy to receive it. I'm proud of what Arsenal has achieved. 2024 has produced one of the most perfect half seasons in the club's history.
There's been a bounty of good football from us this season. As Arteta has just said, the fact we've got areas to improve on, which was as evident as ever today, can be taken into the summer as a positive.
Taking this last home victory into the off season is a good send-off for a season that very nearly touched glory. The players are looking pretty solemn out there—I've just seen vision of Ramsdale giving a gloomy Saka a hug—but if it stings today, I trust it will spur them on. Next season is a new day, and it's not implausible it'll open with decent penalties applied to Manchester City.
