I would just add I maybe view this match up a bit differently to others due to having grown up with a United supporting brother and watching these games together at the time it always seemed to be a title decider between the two teams (we were teenagers in the 1998-2004 period when they were our main rival). This game always provokes a lot of emotion in me based on memories so find myself going back to those days whenever we play them.

Most of my childhood friends are United fans and we were kids/young teenagers in and around the 2000's so it's the rivalry that's closest to my heart and always the team I want to beat most also.

I get the confidence and you can call me a Nervous Nelly but I don't think you can take anything for granted this weekend. We've seen both this season and last that this squad can still be prone to uncharacteristic breaks in confidence/focus, particularly at pressure points in the season. Added to that, our defence is starting to show signs of mental fatigue as the season draws to its finish.

If City were by some miracle to drop points in their game, I'd fully expect a nervy display from us at Old Trafford.

Don Pacifico I do think we are mentally a lot stronger than last year but I agree and I think not having our faith in our hands has suited us a bit. We looked nervy against Villa when it was still in our control. We look more assured since.

We were fine against Villa in the first half. I think the xG at half time was 1.73xG vs 0.15xG. We didn't take our chances and when our intensity and pressing dropped they took over. Taking advantage of our early domination is key.

flobaba you clearly missed Johnny Evans just standing still as Mateta blew right past him. And Casemiro being dribbled past more times in that Palace game than Saliba has been all season. It’s phenomenal

United have 2 more new injuries (Mount and Shaw). Is it a mere coincidence that after our doctor left us to join them they have record number of injuries while our injuries has significantly lessen? 🗨️
