Been saying it since the start of the season. Partey or Jorginho or anyone of that kind of calibre in there Rice at 8 for the high press is the way to go. Rice is a great player, but we need someone of that mould in the 6.

Remember all those theories about how we’re playing slower on purpose? Well it turns out the main difference is that Partey hasn’t been playing. The guys sideways passes even open up play.

goon the way Partey draws players and then releases the ball is ridiculous. He was struggling to do it in his first few games back and kept getting caught. But today he looked sharp, could run on defense as well.

That's exactly what I said on Day 1. It's not the tactics that changed, it was the players. As soon as Jorginho and Partey came back, we were playing at tempo and direct again.

Been banging this drum for a while.. makes a massive difference to the way we play.. we're all about destabilising teams which you need your focal point/pivot to be top quality at.. when we don't have that it looks stiff and the so called control ball kick in.
