It's a bit tough with players as young as Nwaneri or Skelly if they don't make contributions recognised by the fans for a period.
If that's a fully developed player, they get benched and the logic of it's not a big bother to them or anyone else, even if the experience is frustrating.
However, with these kids no one's going to suggest they're in their prime for at least another 3 seasons and everyone knows they are coming forward. And both of them are under contract to Arsenal until mid-2030 (feels deranged typing that, fuck!)
With 18-year-olds they need that validation of their talents and progress, so they need minutes and if the minutes don't work out, they need to be loaned. And then it's not easy to find a Goldilocks loan destination for a player that gifted who's used to an Arsenal level of coherence in his environment.
Seems to me Nwaneri's opportunities this season will likely reduce soon, barring some very good domestic cup runs.
By the way this is not me expressing any lack of faith in either of these supremely talented kids. The parameters are just difficult, and if you have a couple of misfire seasons then all of a sudden you're Reiss Nelson. We'll likely end up in the same pickle with Dowman.
