In all seriousness though, it's good to have games that we genuinely look forward to. Personally, I think if we can make the QF, that's a decent first season back at the top table.
Nice to be in the knockouts in Europe, Arsenal have an awful European record as it is for a club with our domestic achievement and Arteta to date has not done well in these competitions.Lots to prove with this and a very winnable tie so hopefully we can get it done.

Taremi been woefully out of form this season scoring 3 in 16 league games and going to Inter in the summer. Probably won't even start the game.
Anyways Europe is quite different from league, they won all their group games except against Barcelona who they lost both narrowly too.
Pumped for this one. On paper, with our stifling defence, we're set up really well for knockout ties. Would love a statement win to properly announce that we're back.

This will be all about our mentality, only way we don't go through is if we bottle it.
Ride out the loud home crowd, stifle their attack, get out with at least a goalless draw and we should be good, just need a solid professional performance for this one.
I would expect tactical caution from Arteta. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jorginho get minutes either.
The group stage is fundamentally boring but I'm hyped about the Champions League now. It's great to be back. Seems there isn't a team in it we couldn't beat over two legs with a slice of luck ... and if we do get humbled, it's our return season and it'll serve as good motivational fodder for this group of players.

I wouldn't object to that. A bit of experience and real leadership in there could be really helpful and I think you want a bit of a lower tempo in Europe. Plus we need to rotate.
He'll play Jorginho for sure. Who also is well suited to CL. Will be him and Rice and Ode in midfield, and either Kai or Trossard upfront I reckon.

Feels good to be back in a CL knockout round but very nervous for tomorrow given our poor history in European knockout rounds. Just hope we get out of there still in contention for the home leg which often hasn't been the case after the 1st leg in the CL.
