The uneasy silence among western opponents of what's happening today, silence about, say, lurid western reports and editorials of "tens of thousands of protesters killed by the Islamic Republic" ... or historically, about "look what the Taliban is doing to Afghan women" ... those reports that appear throughout the press for weeks ... is that we know the script perfectly well.
The two words that follow these reports are "air strikes" and then the two words that follow those are "regime change". So yeah, we don't cheer on and recirculate the reports creating the conditions for imperialist slaughter.
What's the worth of "mullahs" or "the evil Ali Khamenei" being assassinated alongside Israel deliberately bombing kids schools in Tehran? What's the use of agreeing Castro, Maduro or Khamenei was "starving his people" when we know the conditions of misery were brutal US-backed sanctions and embargoes?
How can we fairly accept that Iran's nuclear program is at issue when the aggressively fascist Israeli ethnostate, in the midst of its program of genocide and Lebensraum with United States support, is armed to the teeth with nukes?
Why must I still daily read in every Australian newspaper that the Islamic Republic is (or has been) a "terrorist" regime without mention that Israel, with its overwhelming stockpile of conventional arms and munitions, is systematically carrying out civilian massacres wherever it pleases in its sphere, outdoing the Islamic Republic by 100:1 in its thirst for blood?
So I'm supposed to circulate imperial propaganda or I'm failing in my moral obligations? Fuck the fuck off.
I understand (to a limited extent) why these events are happening but that understanding makes it absurd to consider these events even inadvertent aspects of justice. Fuck imperialism and bring on the end of United States empire.
