Martinelli's reliant on us going well ahead for these opportunities. We never see teams push up that far against us when scores are square, in a neutral game state Gabi's role has been to make endless sacrificial outside runs to stretch the play—it's a pretty thankless task and one that he does under instruction, not as some believe because he's thick and blind.

No one is saying Marti is thick. It's more of a set-up by Arteta thing.

You'll get the chances to play him through, I think having a better player than Havertz in the middle will yield more chances. Right now Havertz does ok in being sort of a menace with his physicality but he needs to be more incisive with his passing.

Burnwinter if you win the first leg of a CL tie and the opposition need to come at us then Martinelli can do some real damage. A lot of what worked for him today was Palace had to come on to us. When there is zero room in behind its a lot harder for him and Saka. Last season we scored a lot more early goals so they had that room more often.

Qwiss Yeah we're on the same page, just had another post making that point. It has also led to a lot of harsh criticism of Martinelli for collective failures.

That's the thing with our style, when we go ahead we look good, when things are tight many of our weapons are less effective.

Burnwinter thats why I want a striker who offers something when we aren't ahead, someone who can get in and disrupt that low block. Common theme with our striker is not getting enough chances. They just aren't getting the ball in the right situations enough.

A bit annoying that we create a bunch of chances versus West Ham etc and decide not to finish. And today we score by the truckload. Would’ve taken one of these goals in another game. But c’est la vie

Gabriel is w/out a doubt significantly under-rated outside Arsenal.

People used to rave about Kos but he was always prone to a fuck up. Earlier on regularly then a bit more occasionally but always prone.

Gabriel/Saliba simply the best CB's in the league.

Need 3 players next summer- A good LB, A partner for RIce and an alternative or upgrade on Jesus who can then compete for both a backup FW and starting wing position
