Awful try by Nketiah.
Our strikers get so much space in the middle only to be let down by touch or finishing
Meatwad That no way could the ref have called that handball for starters when video evidence itself was hard to find. He was too eager. Then for VAR to uphold it became much easier in the absence of clear evidence that it wasn't handball, when VAR could easily have ruled in our favor. We got screwed.
The officiating in this country me sick.
Villa now just one point behind us.
They have beaten Chelsea Brighton City Spuds West Ham and Us by an agg score of 15-3.
Gotta be title contenders?
Their next 5 fixtures are against bottom teams too
Clrnc no way in hell. They're shit.
Clrnc for sure. But...it will be one of Liverpool and City. Nobody has a chance really from the rest of us. We are 3 players away from the title. Maybe next year
Shit performance. We need a fckin attack all over again. Our strikers are shit .
GooneriC there's no all over again when we've barely touched the attack in years and years. It's pathetic actually.
Saka and Martinelli are not yet elite if they ever even will be. Jesus doesn't score and can be a time wasting little bitch.
We need to get a worldie of a wide forward in January as well as a full back. Or season over, again.
rice waits too long before taking over games offensively. he makes a huge difference by driving with the ball, but he only starts doing it in the last 10-15 minutes of the game. must be operating under some bullshit constraints by captain horseshoe
villa aren't no contenders for anything more than top 4 imo. and they carry unais spirit of bag fumbling
Done with Jesus. Martinelli needs to sit.
Coombs thought we looked so much worse once Jesus went off
HomeSteak That is how I see it too, pool and city will fight for a title and we should finish in the top four.
Nah they aren't contenders just ona good run at home.
their captain made a half chance into a great goal and ours fluffed multiple great opportunities. and jesus being jesus. trossard being shit. those are the problems. not a ref calling handball because he sees it bounce off havertz multiple times.
Meatwad these are not mutually exclusive issues.
Mirth thought we looked so much worse once Jesus went off
That was to be expected. Jesus may miss chances but he creates so much. Nketiah, if he isn't scoring, is useless.
Mirth I don't really care, honestly. He's an annoying cheat and isn't a real striker by his own admission, what does looking good do for us?
We did have our chances today but did not make them count.
Ultimately a very ineffective attacking game has cost us something we have seen for a long time. They're was lots of talk about your wait when city give it's that space but we are nowhere near good enough from an attacking perspective. That will cost you winning any title and Arteta and the team need to recognise that fast.
Actually one of better games in many ways, I thought. Sadly, just no cutting edge in the final third.
Coombs that's the only issue. the ref was not an issue.
For what it's worth, I think the rule right now is that if the ball accidentally hits the hand of the goalscorer then the goal is disallowed. Otherwise, normal handball rules apply. An interesting upshot of this is that I think the goal would have counted if Kai had let Eddie score it. That's basically what happened for the goal against Newcastle. I definitely don't blame Kai in any sense. It's hard to have that level of awareness in the moment, but it's just an interesting consequence of how the rules work.
Traumatised by those lame attempts on goal, and Mcginn sticking his ass out all night to hog the ball. Fuck this
In some games there is something very mechanical and rehearsed about how we go forward. Almost like we reset when we shouldn't just so that we attack like we have practiced.
We had our chances and got fucked over by the referee but we didn't look great.
Rohit so many times there was a simple pass on between the lines, and the players were too scared or too drilled to pick it out. and on the occasion they did pick the pass, the receiver- ode being the main offender - was super passive, took a poor touch or picked the wrong ball. just a god awful display of attacking football, which felt like a few chickens coming to roost after we've gotten away with it for so long this season
