Again, I blame White as he got beaten three times during one attack. Raya should do better, but IMO this type of shot goes in about 10% of the time and it is a reflex save, still should do better. Anyway it looks like Arteta got rid of two goalkeepers that are better than the ones we have.

Yeah. The shot is basically impossible to save if you choose to dive for it but nobody put a gun to his head and said he needed to dive for it. He should have just used his feet.

Our goalkeeping coach, Inaki whatshisname, has recommended Raya and Runarsson so far. Not a great record. Maybe he recommended Ramsdale too, I don't know. Whatever, Mikel has created the GK mess. He will attempt to fix it by selling Ramsdale in January I reckon. Which means we will need to get another GK in.

I really like Ramsadle - this whole thing pisses me off.

Anyway, 3 points on the road is good I guess.

daredevil given everything we've seen this season, I'm happy writing it off as a bit of seasonal madness. city and pool both shipped 3 this week too, and city's goals against have spiked this season. sometimes it is just run of the mill epl insanity, not helped by some almunia-esque keeping

daredevil although it's not that straight forward, I'd pretty much say it's the defence's job to limit xG while it's the GK's job to concede as few as possible from that xG. Normally, the job our defence did will see us concede one goal yesterday so it's not all bad.

I don't think this kind of result will do us any harm psychologically, it's good to see how you can be beaten (ie by selecting a tiny keeper against a massive side) without actually losing.

On balance I reckon a cliffhanger with the result every four or five matches is a slight positive, keeps the team sharp without leading to emotional and physical burnout.

Hope we've got something in the tank for Villa though, it'll be a long match at Villa Park now. Here's hoping for a gruelling match between them and City.

The goals Raya allowed in were the same kind Rambo was guilty of last season. Barkley's goal in particular, also a signature Ramsdale error - done by a keeper that last season had better saves ratio than him.

And the flapping from corners Raya has been let off several times before today. Its a common error from him

Big Willie Really? Thought he was good on the ball and great assist from him but was very shaky defensively. He gave away the corner that led to Luton's first goal cheaply and didn't close down Barkley on his goal. He didn't look his usual assured self at all.

Segway Agree with you but won't put it on him. People often make the same mistake to judge someone who just came back into the team harshly. It's not easy to get the momentum, chemistry and sharpness back immediately.

I remember last year people were being very critical in the sporadic matches Tomi started too. White will be back to his best with a run of games.

Not really baffling though, is it? Well expected at this point in time. It's more surprising when we get something from the ref/VAR rather than just get fucked like on the regular.

It's clear they don't have any accountability and they don't give a fuck either.

est it's almost as if they have swung to the other extreme, is we don't want var to re ref the game = var is not going to do its job.

Anyway, glad we are getting to a point where we understand that no one is going to do us any favors. If we are going to win the league it's going to be despite var's best efforts against us.
