Zinchenko already plays in midfield. He takes up the LB position off the ball when defending but in possession he spends the rest of the game in midfield.

Last season he spent more time at LB in possession and would then invert. This season, he's fixed as a DM who then covers the LB area when we shift into a defensive shape. He could play in place of Jorginho but that would simply mean moving him from LDM to RDM.

That still wouldn't solve the problem of not having someone who is good enough to partner him in midfield. Rice can do job but I'm undecided whether he's better as a 6 or 8.

The other way round no? As in Zin is as much a CM as Raya is a CB or Jesus is an AM?

Zinchenko LB on paper but CM most of the time positionally.
Jesus CF on paper but AM positionally most of the time etc.

I guess thats where I disagree. Zinchenko is too prone to a loose pass and I think thats why Arteta wont play him there.

It weird, loads of empty seats and feels like there are a lot more tourists/casuals than usual.

I saw one guy rock up 20 mins past kick off and left the game with 10 mins to go - I mean what is the point of even going.

Maybe last year was a one off, post All or Nothing and the way we started the season, our players and gaffer had the best momentum/good will be ever in Arteta’s reign?

Did not winning the title knock the stuffing out of the fans? It’s odd

I don’t think so, the atmosphere at Chelsea after the title was lost was electric.

I think a lot of fans who got to games last season cannot get tickets anymore. I know 4 personally who between us have gone to just 2 games (through ticket exchange) despite applying for every single ballot.

Apparently a big part of the improved atmosphere was due to some of the older crowd not coming anymore post Covid and the demographic got a lot younger and more enthusiastic. Whether it’s the ballot system or otherwise, feels like that’s changed again.

The prawn sandwich brigade is back.

I may have said this before, but the sheer joy and defiance on display - with Allez Allez Allez being belted out by what seemed like the entire Clock End for the entirety of the second half - at the final home game of last season is one of my favourite ever experiences I've had at Arsenal and something which will live long in the memory. It's already beginning to feel a bit like it must have for the guys on the old North Bank against Southampton in 1992.

I'm NOT saying it's exactly the same, of course it isn't, but it feels a bit it might have been the last stand before things changed for the worst. Which is a real shame because at the time, it felt like we'd only just got going!

Seen the suggestion as well that you can’t pick where you want to sit is another big problem. Basically those who generate atmosphere are now spread out across the stadium.

goon you also get terrible atmosphere for poor fixtures. Burnley at home people don't quite have the same energy as a city or Chelsea game because they're is an expectation we should be able to navigate those games it inevitably impacts how people feel about those games.

Didn't see the match only highlights but a good and important win after the loss last week and with the players we have out. We have pretty good depth now. Onto the next 1.
