daredevil id argue that prioritizing plan B (bench performance) over plan A (the starting lineup/guys playing 70+ mins) is a mistake. if your plan A is good, you need to rely less on plan B

I would favour a sample size of 100 games where Partey played DM than a sample of 5 odd games where he played RB. Regardless, he'a injured anyway. So is Odegaard, Zinchenko has competition and Xhaka has left.

Our box midfield has changed completely, so understandably there are teething problems. Nevertheless, a short term drop in midfield effectiveness was always going to happen with so many changes.

I enjoyed our intensity in that half but apart from the goal it's been faorly one dimensional again, just giving it to Martinelli all the time. We really miss Odegaard at the edge of the box to knit it all together.

City and pool have a very similar situation to ours and somehow they do no struggle, if anything pool has significantly improved.

Liverpool replaced a midfield that was long past it's sell by date, so there was clear upside with midfield changes. Whilst, we replaced a midfield that almost won the league, so improving that was always going to be more difficult.

I'm not certain City's midfield is better this season, either.
