It looks to me like he caught him. Tbh I think he's lucky it caught him and slid off him rather than catching him straight which it was maybe an inch off. Don't think Vieira meant it but it was dangerous.

Not too sure about that. Yes, as per the rules of the game a high challenge like that is a red. But the contact is minimal and Vieira's pulled back from the challenge (you can see his knee bend away trying to pull out).

In an ideal world that challenge and every one like it should be a red but how many have we suffered with much more contact with no penalty on the opposition? Didn't Kovacic go in studs up on Odegaard's ankle and then on someone else catching them full on with force just a few weeks ago?

Also fuck Michael Olvier, this the same guy that gave Martinelli 2 yellows in the same passage of play. He's always eager to give us a red. There is no club he's given more straight red cards to than us. He's given us 6 straight reds in 48 games, United 2 in 40 games, Chelsea 2 in 41 games, Liverpool 1 in 52 games and (surprise, surprise) City 0 in 44 games.

And he gives more penalties per game against us than any other club in the PL. All the other teams above us in this list are either international teams or clubs he's reffed a small number of games.

Ah I know he's not great, but I loved that game. Being in attendance, stuffing them in the cup, Welbeck scoring the decisive goal, them getting a red at Old Trafford. I'm not a fan of Oliver but it's always what I think of first when his name pops up.

They were all giving out about Arteta last week and went straight back to echoing his statements on VAR and refs this week. I think Artetas statements will work to put extra pressure on VAR.

The fact they're singling us out despite having the 7th least yellows for dissent, even Arteta has 4 managers with the same number of bookings for dissent with another 2 having more. The anti Arsenal agenda by refs and the media is fucking maddening.
