Clrnc I think we'll see Rice back at 6 with Havertz or Vieira, or maybe even ESR as we've been seeing more of him lately, at 8. I think Rice & Partey/Jorginho is Arteta's preference for tougher matches only. Let's see

At home vs the bottom table team, I would hope Arteta recognizes the opportunity to introduce some on-ball quality to improve our attacking sequences. That could be Vieira or Trossard, though I hope it's ESR who I think would cause Sheffield fits.

I would also add that with an EFL game vs West Ham midweek it makes all the more sense to get ESR/Vieira/Trossard into the team vs Sheffield. At least two of them will feature vs West Ham and I'd rather they do so with 30-60 minutes under their belt (vs Sheffield).

Let one of ESR/Vieira start vs Sheffield, have the other sub him at 60 mins, and let Trossard start for Jesus or sub Martinelli (at 60).

I'm going to really be down if he starts Havertz at 8 over Vieira/Trossard/ESR.

I would expect Arteta's project players—such as Havertz and Raya, Jorginho and possibly Vieira—to feature in this match in order to gain confidence and a chance to pad their stats, while those who are merely good rather than preferred players such as Trossard, Smith Rowe or Nelson, will feature as subs or not at all.

Imagine this horrendous Arteta Spooky Nightmare Flat Track Bully Frankenstein XI, with Rice, Saliba and Jesus rested:
