If Partey is fit he needs to come on stat, and for us to simplify. Zinchenko is driving me mad and his inabilities are only magnified with Jorginho centrally.

Saka also needs to make a call on whether he’s playing this game or not. If he is, he needs to fucking clean out Cuceralla the second this half starts.

We can, we played like this against Lens and from start of the season week by week we looked less dangerous up front. Now Arteta has a massive and self created problem to fix.
Also, while this half was absolutely horrible and it is hard to blame it on one or two players, Zincheko's high risk low reward passing has been bothering me since the end of last season, and if anything he seems to make mistakes more often.

we have literally no chance if odegaard and saka both lay an egg like this. we can talk about the flaws of artetas control ball, but individually there's some real sloppy, careless performances out there from our star attackers, and tbh thats become a theme this season. jesus, saka, martinelli and odeegaard have been shadows of what they were last season

Clrnc the worst thing about that is Arteta has designed this because he wants teams to press us high. The whole idea is to get them to commit to the press and then play over them, it just doesn't work. We don't have the pieces for it.

Qwiss I dunno, think Arteta is the bigger problem at the moment. This performance is more or less on par with a lot of other performances this season. We've intentionally chosen to reduce the level of intensity and aggression with which we play, yet we've not actually got the level of control required in possession to dominate opponents.

Don Pacifico I agree. This extra conservative, loads of possession in our own 3rd is fucking awful. Like I said in my other post, this performance has been coming. Lens was extremely similar.

This has been coming all season. Tactically we've been like this in far too many games. We need to stop with the Raya long balls, they don't work most of the time. The only times we've looked dangerous is when we get it on the floor and actually play football.

Get Jorginho off at half time and get Vieira or ESR on. Someone who can actually run and play some decent passes.

EDIT: Actually just get Partey in there.

i honestly just hate the way we play. inverting fullbacks, playing 5 guys out of position, making every simple thing so overcomplicated. when we had no money to spend, trying to be creative would have made sense. we have the money now to just build a real squad and play a normal game of football. that we actively choose not to do that is disappointing. how do you even change things now? plan B requires adjusting 7 different things.

football is algebra, at its most complicated. we actively choose to turn it into rocket science calculus. i dont like it.

You're only saying this when we're not playing well. All those were features of when we were playing well. Not sure what your "normal" game of football is, not sure what your "real" squad is.

Fucking sign a striker who scores, and fucking sign a wide player who has pace AND dribbling ability. Not just one or the other.

That was really poor, the team off our passing abysmal. We need to change something up because it's not working and we don't look likely to get a result out of this.
