If Arteta managed to ignite fire in Nelson who went from having no courage to now playing like a Duracell battery that doesn't run out, I am starting to think Havertz will also come good. Probably will take a few years still.

Havertz is useful reliable squad rotation for now. Not sure if he will ever make it to undisputed starter.

For me, Havertz looking good today is only further proof he should have been eased in. I’ve said it before but he never should have been given a guaranteed starting spot and there were plenty of games that any of Viera/Rice/ESR could have started (at 8) ahead of him.

Sicario2 - Tier 1 — he was fine, which is more than I’d say about some of his recent games.

ESR and Nelson were both better, but Havertz looked more comfortable. I think that’s probably more down to opposition and game quality rather than him finding form.

Hard to believe it's 2023 and Cedric and Elneny are getting on the pitch for us but with injuries piling up already we're not a million miles away from having to start them in more important games than this one.

Clrnc Agreed. It may not be the top priority but a trophy is a trophy and winning breeds winning and all that. City, United and Liverpool are happy to keep winning it so I've never really got why it's supposed to be beneath us. City have won 6 of the last 10. Looking at the draw with City gone and one of United or Newcastle out in the next round it looks winnable.
Obviously other than the players who have come from City or Chelsea, our squad is largely made up of players who have never won anything so that first trophy can't hurt. Crazy to think we won the FA Cup only 3 years ago yet not a single player who started the final is still here. Only Nketiah, Saka and Nelson were on the bench, and only Nketiah got on the pitch.
