All our games so far this season have been ‘life or death’ games and full of drama.

We need to calm the fuck down and have a few boring, resounding wins.

We are playing as if it’s the last 4 games of the season, not the first.

Fans as well, myself included, need to calm down as well. Long season to go. I guess that is what Man City do to you.

The Man City point is important. They are what they are. An irresistible force, so every imperfection on our end is magnified 100 times. I hate what they’ve done to football. I try to ignore them as much as possible. Liverpool needed a great team plus perfect health to beat City. Otherwise it’s near impossible. Why should that stress me out?

I think it was Carragher who was saying last week that Arsenal players and fans need to calm down. Maybe being less emotional would be better for our chances, but I'll take another emotion fuelled rollercoaster ride every time. Let the robots do their thing and we'll do ours.

It's a long season. City have started well but they're capable of poor form. We just need to be as good or better than last season so we are ready if they make mistakes.

I went down this road of moderating my expectations last year, but ultimately if we're still there in March again, nobody is going to be chilled out.

We started fast last season and then burned out. So starting slow this season isn't necessarily bad, as long as we improve as the season progresses. The Partey-Xhaka axis was a crucial pillar in recent years, so how well Rice and Havertz replaces them will strongly determine our fortunes. Fortunately, we have an additional option in Vieira who is knocking on the door.
