6/10. The selling of players takes the window down for me.
I rate Timber...shame about what happened.
Rice looks so good, I was not sold on him before, but he will turn into a proper world class player here.
Raya, he can pass but that is it for me, also way to small for us and the issues we already have at set pieces. Having 2 keepers of very close value never worked, it will not work here, so he either takes the nr 1 spot from Ramsdale and we sell the english man, or he never makes it as a number 1 here and he leaves as he is fighting for his national team place and all that . Either way we end up buying another keeper next summer, even if he edges out Ramsdale, as I said, it's not a big improvement as both are ok but not great.
Havertz, tragic player.
Out goings have been shit, but it is the be expected, as we are always shit at it.
Balogun was sold for a decent price, maybe a little to low, but there is a sell on clause...I'll leave it like that, decent.
Xhaka was good deal at 21 mil, but we got Havertz to replace him at 65, so we got a much much worse player and -40 mil.
Turner .. 7 mil, we got it him for 6 + adds ones that we probably never had to pay. He had a great world cup a great CONCACAF Gold Cup and we got 1 extra mil...I don't know how to rate this..with the money in the PL, probably a shit deal, but then again, we never really played him, Arteta took him out of the cup games as well and played Ramsdale. Hard to rate.
Pablo Mari, we got him for a fee of 8 mil the loan, and then 6 mil after the achiles injury (what the fuck) and sold him for 6 mil and two loan fees in between, cannot find any reports with how much we got as a loan, probably not much. Still took a hit on him, but he is so shit I'm just happy he is gone.
Auston Trusty - got im for 1.8 mil, sold him for 5.8 this season, not bad.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles - left for free, should have been sold when we had offers, another fuck up.
Kieran Tierney - loan. shit deal. Better to just keep him.
Runar Runarsson - loan, just a bad joke at this point, the guy is still an Arsenal player in 2023.
Marquinhos - loan, good deal but don't think he will make it here so maybe we should have sold.
Tavares - good deal, we will make about 5 mil on him.
Pepe, Holding, Lokonga, Cedric, Elneny are still here.
No Saka sub, at this point the kid has played 83 games in a row for us...Arteta never plays Nelson, and in the little minutes he gets he is on the left side, I'm starting to think, there is no point in getting a Saka sub as Arteta will never ever use that sub.
No new striker, we might need a new striker with Jesus always injured, same knee...it's not looking good for him. That 65 mil for Havertz should have been used for a striker, and no, Havertz is not one.
So pretty meh all in all. In defence things are bad we have: Saliba, Gabriel, White, Zinchenko, Kiwior, Tomyiasu. 6 defenders, Tomyiasu and Zinechnko are always injured, like if we hear tomorrow that Tomy is out for the season, there will be no shock. Kiwior while having good moments, I don't think he is ready to step in if we need him for like a 20 game run. There is no doubt in my mind that with our luck with injuries and the guys that cannot stay healthy, we will end up playing Partey at right back a lot, and probably Rice as a CB. People are saying maybe we can give a few minutes to Walters but I don't see it. Arteta played the first team in the EL in dead games, even in the League Cup vs lower league teams...he played the first team and gave the youngster about 5 minutes. (I miss Wenger when it comes to this, he used to ball out in the League Cup, hell even the CL when the group was done he would play some random guys, a lot of fun)
So yeah, all in all we managed to neglect some important parts of the team, did not sell all that we should have and the ones we did we got little in return, and in my opinion beacuse of the Timber injury we only got in 1 player that improves the first 11. So not a very good window. Even if Timber would have been healthy, he would have not displaced ZInechnko, so yeah, 200 mil invested to have 1 player that makes the first 11 better. Not good.
