The defence bothers me. Best case is Ben White's gonna end up overplayed again I reckon. As with last season, we can tolerate an injury to Tomiyasu for a few weeks, but that's it. It's a bugger what's happened to Timber. Maybe Walters will be ready to be third string in winter.
That said, the squad is more dynamic with more diverse options than at the start of last season, forward of the defence. Rice, Havertz, Trossard, Nelson all in the mix with a year's extra experience and maturity for the players who starred for us last year, Vieira adapting, Jesus and Nketiah both currently fit, and Xhaka the only meaningful departure. Jorginho will be a waste of space unless we can start him in lesser competitions, which I doubt.
We should calm down a bit, this is a very strong squad. No excuses for dropping points anywhere, any time in my opinion.
