First time in a long time there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the starting line up. Zinchenko at lb? If so, then Partey will probably not play rb. Does that mean Partey is on the bench or replaces Havertz in midfield? Will Nketiah start? What about Gabriel? At the same time, Arteta won't and shouldn't make too many changes in just one week.

Twitter noise mentioning Partey is out injured (ranging from 3 weeks to 3 months).

Big call from Arteta of he starts Havertz... Needs to be tearing it up in training if does imo.

Think some of the criticism he has received has been harsh, but we have seen it many times before where some players can have a instant impact and other need more time. Havertz looks like he is in the second category. Which is fine but we now, unlike previous seasons, have much more competition and a couple of player with a legitimate claim to be starting..

I don’t think it would be a huge call, in fact I’m expecting it especially with Partey out. He needs to back him man.

There will come a point soon where Vieira and ESR will rightfully be eying it up though.

I don't disagree.. but backing him doesn't necessarily mean playing him we he is at a low point (if in fact he is)... Think the mentality needs to change a bit about having a first 11 and then backups. We should have more quality now to rotate based on march performance / training / etc.. If Vieira/Trossard/ESR are killing it in training.. I don't see why they shouldn't start ahead of him.

Arteta may get a little stubborn with Havertz, but to be fair he looked the part in that first 60 minutes against Palace. As did the whole team

The Partey injury will make Arteta switch back to what worked for us, he got lucky in my opinion, because he would have went with it to the extreme. This is like that time Willian got sick and he was forced to put ESR on vs Chelsea, that was the moment the team turned their form around.

Vieira should start in place of Havertz based on what he showed last week, but we all know he won't.

Is there a reliable place to find heatmaps for each of our games? I wonder whether this whole setup is to accommodate Havertz at #10. I seem to remember Rice describing the formation as a midfield diamond with him on the left after one of the games (can't remember which), so maybe this is a 3-4-3 - anyone know where I can find player heatmaps of our games?

Clrnc haha, I actually did put that but deleted it, thinking Jorginho might be a bit too exposed on the counter. I guess with Rice babysitting him it'd be ok, but we'd lack in creativity perhaps without someone like Trossard there.

If Vieira wasn't so flaky I'd love for him to be rewarded with a start today.
