Got to admit as possibly the OMITT person who has had the most faith in Havertz as a general concept, I've got no idea what I'm looking at.

He's been playing like he's got an acquired brain injury, and it's like it's getting worse every time he plays.

That is one of the most negative, cowardly, nonsense performances I've seen from any team at the Emirates.

What are they even trying to do? None of their back 5 (gk included) could play a penetrative pass if their life depended on it. If it wasn't for a moment of terrible defending from White and then a pathetic mistake from Ramsdale, they wouldn't have mounted an attack in the entire half.

It's just strange.

Hopefully we up it in the second half and make them pay.

We're so nervy defensively this season. We look like a team in transition – still trying to figure out exactly how to work out these new patterns in midfield and integrate new players.

Havertz needs to go sooner rather than later, United have no control in midfield that might necessitate his physicality, and we need someone who can contribute more in possession and going forward. Still open-minded about him longer-term but he is not the best option right now.

Have to admit I’m not enjoying watching us these days.

There so little fluidity and magic, just get it wide to Saka/Martinelli and watch them do the same thing again and again.

MistaT Arteta doesn't know how to create in any other way. Odegaard is his answer for central creativity and he couldn't play a risky through ball if his life depended on it.

Been a good first half. Very happy. Would bring Trossard in at left 8 so he can help bring Martineli more central. We’ve been looking fluid and dangerous.

Claudius Trossard would've been taken off if he had a half like the one Havertz just had. Let's hope it goes both ways, could be good.

I guess so, but it's unambitious to the point of absurdity.

Onana is literally just playing 10 yard passes over and over and over, and then he occasionally kicks it long straight to us. He's not playing any line-breakers, nor are the defenders. It's head-scratchingly bad. It shouldn't pass as good football because it's "playing out from the back" as it does these days. City do not do this. We do not do this.

I was not really concerned with Havertz before today. It's not just the fluffing of the shot or even the pass that led to the goal, for a player of his technique he's been very sloppy.

He's not a patch on xhaka so far. Xhaka till 2021 used to undo good work with the quite regular moment of madness but he was never this poor over a game.
