Yeah, the performance level was fine. The big disappointment is that, if we're really trying to win the league, then you can only really have about a couple of these types of games a season and we burned one in the third game.

In the cold light of day, you're right. My blood is boiling too much to feel that way right now, but you are right. We were totally dominant, and messed up good positions way too often, and outright missed good chances too often as well.

The one thing that has to change though is our set-piece dedending. There is nothing unfortunate about that. Nicolas Jover, I'm looking you. We're all looking at you. His job should be on the line.

Also, I would play Raya next game. Ramsdale positioning on both goals was very poor.

Analysis on the lineup and individual performances aside (good day for Eddie and Vieira, yuck from Havertz), we really need to stop fucking up early in games.

I don’t even know how to explain it either because it comes from one of our most ball secure players.

Also feel like breaking up the best CB partnership in the league is a mistake. White is fine at CB but he’s a very good right back too.

Partey inverting should be a back up solution. I get trying to shoehorn him in but it’s not working.

goon Saka losing the ball just inside our half shouldn't be an automatic goal though. That's very reminiscent of late Wenger teams and it's entirely structural. If we'd Saliba as right CB it doesn't turn into a goal and no one remembers Sakas mistake in 2 weeks time.

Pepe LeFrits he looked quite quick today even before that. Never seen that in him before. Maybe instead of bulking like we hoped he's worked on his burst of speed. Certainly looked more confident in himself.

Ricky1985 I didn't come out of the game feeling like we absolutely peppered their goal. Leno had little to do. One save from Martinelli at the side, one shot tipped over the bar from Vieira, the rest were very routine.

Jimenez went inches away from scoring and Adama should have won it for them. It isn't like they didn't deserve the draw we gifted them tbh

That's just... wrong.

We gave them, literally gave them, a goal in the 1st minute, and even then they fluked it! Jiminez nearly scored a freak goal out of nothing - it was barely a chance and would have been a goal for the ages. Traore got away on the break in stoppage time because we were throwing everything at them to find a winner.

The whole rest of the game we were pretty much totally and utterly dominant in terms of possession and field tilt. We just didn't make it count, partly because our attackers were very wasteful, but also because they defended in big numbers and extremely well.

I mean, there you said it. We had many possession, of course, but mostly were sterile domination with little clear chances created. You ain't disagreeing with what really happened that I described which was Leno not having much to do and we didn't pepper him with saves after saves to make, unlike say for example the game against Bournemouth last season. We were extremely poor till Vieira came on and then once we went 2-1 up, we were poor again and conceded the entire pitch to them, just to drop back and defend the lead.

That says more about our finishing and lack of killer instinct than anything tbh. We got into their box into dangerous situations regularly only to balloon a shot over the bar, scuff a finish, delay and get the shot blocked, react too slowly, etc.

Ultimately, we scored 2 goals, and probably should have scored 4. They had next to nothing in the match, we had a lot of chances to punish them, but in the end it's 2-2. We simply can't keep conceding goals the way we have been for the last 15 league games or so.

Clrnc Shocking and not acceptable at all. We looked so focus and resolute last game and then to become so lax and open at home. Constantly putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure.

I don’t know how anyone could watch that game and think we were dominant.

We never created consistent high quality chances, nor played fluidly. Everything felt awkward and forced, including our defense and midfield.

Panda Yep. Stop sacrificing defence for control. Play proper defenders. Everytime we make a mistake it pretty much either result in a wonder save, last ditch tackle or a goal. Too poor percentage risk to be worth it for us while adding control that we already have and don't need

I thought it was a really poor performance from the team, easily one of the worst I remember in a long while.. We lacked sharpness and urgency, looked a bit complacent I'm our general attitude which is a major worry. You cannot drop points to teams like Fulham at home I think they type of team city have been shows they don't give you room for error like that.

Saka and Martinelli have looked quite off it and to be fair last year they probably overperformed their level in terms of returns.

Just doesn't look great as a whole, we don't look like a team capable of what's needed for a title against a team like City
