Let's be honest, the first was a great goal and the build up to the second was similarly exceptional.
The pass from Sane in behind Rice was exquisite. Probably the first time this season I can recall Rice taken out so easily. Similarly, the lob from Neuer over our press and the way they progressed the play down the byline preceding Sane's run was equally good.
We make mistakes in every game and Brighton on the weekend had several opportunities to hurt us in the transition but they didn't have the quality to exploit the situations and most teams in the PL don't.
I think we had the momentum after the first goal and we sensed that we could kill the tie but by doing that, we left the back door ajar and were duly punished. We didn't pick 4 points off City by going at them. That's how we gave up 6 points last season, and we made that same mistake against Bayern.
People compared the sequence to the old Wenger sides and what Arteta has that Wenger didn't is an exceptional counter press, which mitigates the risk of a high line, however it's just not that effective in Europe because teams are too adept at playing around it.
It is a learning curve, and ideally we would have been more measured after the first goal, but equally we could have done that and still drawn the game. So it's difficult to say what would have won it.
