Go on Eddie. Apart from DiabyKungfu, not a single person on here had you starting! Doesn't look like a back 3 to me, but intrigued.

Bruv...
Same sort of setup we finished last season with.
Gabriel dropped to the bench, intriguing. Dules might be onto something.
didn't see this set up in preseason at all. mikel better not get lost in the sauce with so many options to choose from
Glad to see we're playing out best available center forward at center forward
DiabyKungFu DiabyKungfu apart sorry, my morning brain couldn't put a more intricate sentence together
Pepe LeFrits
Hope not. Hope it's 3 at the back with a box in front.
daredevil that's what it is when we have the ball, it'll be a 4 4 2 shape out of possession I bet
All week people online were taking about how Arteta will not change a winning team. Then he does this, this is a Pep CL panic moment. What the fuck man
HomeSteak Huh? Rather he does this. I like rotations and now he have so much options he better bloody rotate like Pep.
And this also shows that we want to go for goals at home to Nottm.

The defensive approach worked out really well in the context of playing Manchester City but I really have no idea what people saw that would make them say "Yes, this is exactly how I would want us to play against Nottingham Forest at home".
This is the unpredictability Arteta wanted I guess!
Clrnc I rather he not. Looks to me like over thinking for the sake of it
Nketiah : Arteta :: Xhaka : Wenger? I just don't get this.
It's the same setup we used vs Forest and Wolves in our last two (fully) competitive games. I don't get why people are so surprised
Yeah, exactly. Playing with 4 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders in the Emirates Cup and Community Shield was Arteta doing a weird "Pep in the CL" thing. This is going back to how we usually play. A big interesting thing is that this seems to suggest that Arteta might not consider Timber as an inverted fullback. I guess we'll see as the season progresses.
Hope Turner don't have a blinder
DiabyKungFu If you reckon this is how we'll typically play, where do you see Zinchenko fitting in, if at all?
KingslandBarge
Zinchenko and Gabriel for Timber and Partey.
trossard up front with hazertz running off him makes so much more sense to me. eddie doesn't bring others into play
