Pepe LeFrits Trossard really should be starting at 9 imo.

Nketiah scored more goals from 9 today than Trossard has in his entire Arsenal career. Hopefully, when xG - G regresses to 0, the Nketiah Derangement Syndrome that's going around will subside.

DiabyKungFu Aren't we conveniently ignoring the assists trossard had? and the impact he has on the play! I thought Eddie was not able to do anything this game well (apart from the goal and I thought that was almost straight to the keeper)

I hope so. If other players had started at 9, pressed like a daemon and scored a good goal they'd be getting praised. Eddie still gets criticised.

DiabyKungFu it's very weird. I thought one of the best things about him was going to be his conditioning and professionalism. Shouldn't be letting his levels drop so much over the break. Hope Arteta has him more desciplined next year.

I really think this whole narrative is a just-so story around the fact that Eddie had a ridiculously unlucky finishing streak followed by Leo having a ridiculously lucky streak of his chances created turning into assists. Eddie is easily the better 9 for me. Don't know why Havertz would start over Trossard, though. That's where I would look.

Havertz will play a lot of 9 for us this season. If Jesus is out and we play City, Pool, Brighton and other super preset teams, Havertz will start. He is a massive player and provides a great outlet for long balls. We don’t want to be constantly playing short balls against those teams. We would like to vary by sending long to Havertz as target. We can also do this with both Jesus and Havertz on the field.

Mirth "aside from the goal" is the problem with Havertz generally when up front. He works hard but he's slow to react to things, to get his shots and passes away. Eddies more natural in front of goal.

Qwiss true but then Havertz is a more effective outball under pressure. In essence all our striking options are flawed in some way, including Jesus so if there’s a position to rotate based on circumstance it’s the number 9s

Disappointing to give away chances like we did, that is what cost us the title last season. Didn't watch much of the game but sounds like enough to win but not much more.

Need to find our system, at the moment too much changing around.

Wondering if someone asked about Gabriel. Arteta trying to be too smart with these tactical changes and left out one of our best players.

We suffocated them for a while but our offensive stat line was depressing.

naz Nothing. Was pretty short. Just answered about why he chose Nketiah over Trossard. Said Nketiah trained exceptionally well to the point he would be an idiot if he did not start him

Very mixed game. Looked pretty good in the first half but in the second slipped into a bit of a passive mindset of almost being happy with 2-0 and went into cruise mode but that is always risky and Forest had some big chances as well and they are by no means a particularly good side. The defensive concerns I had are still very much there and not sure I saw today what Havertz is going to bring to us.

But need to win these matches while we are finding our feet particularly in these opening fixtures.

The ticket stuff before the match was a shambles, not sure what caused it but doesn't seem to be working as intended I wonder how it'll go next fixture.
