Sicario2 - Tier 1 None of that stuff really makes a difference when people have depression. I've a few people close to me who have suffered with it and they have lives similar to mine. Finances are fine, great wife and kids, good backgrounds, etc nothing serious in their past that would cause and trauma etc but they still end up suffering. Its a disease. Things like financial difficulties or other hard times can trigger it but they aren't the root cause. Some people will face the same and never have the same reaction.
I know someone who was working as a driver for a doctor and one day it snowed heavily and he couldn't get the car out and about with it. That small issue was enough to trigger it and he was in a deep depression for most of a year after it. His kids got the issue too but he's never been as bad because he knows about it, he's seen it first hand, he understands it and he got treatment before he reached that level.
I've multiple cousins who've taken their own lives because of depression. One was doing everything they tell you, taking his pills, seeing a therapist, absolutely everything. Guy was an incredibly talented green keeper, had left Ireland to go work on bigger more prestigious courses (and we've a lot of big prestigious courses) again with a good family, wife, etc But he couldn't take it and ended his own life.
I think if someone like Alli is coming out and saying this we should give him the benefit of the doubt and take his word for it. If we don't what signal does that send to everyone else? This is life and death mate.
Sicario2 - Tier 1 It’s fine, I’m a little older than you guys and may have ‘old skool’ mentality. You guys do you.
Wait you are? Jesus I wrote all that assuming you were a kid who hadn't much life experience. If you are older than us surely you have met people who have suffered with depression at some point?
