If we haven't sold him yet, we may as well consider him an option whilst we've got a key injury. Seem to remember Nasri playing for us the week before he signed for City when everyone already knew he was off.

A part of me does miss the chaos of Pepe...what could have been, I guess.

lorddulaarsenal Why would you play Partey there? When we have White and Tomiyasu who are better then him there. And at the same time Partey is much better then Rice in the middle.

HomeSteak I personally think Partey is better than both there. He’s more dynamic and better on the ball. It’s probably why a few of us are keen to get Caicedo in to play a similar role

I think the trick for the start of the season is continuity. A bit like Klopp when he was bringing in players like Fabinho - slowly acclimatise the new guys to the team bit by bit. That means that the likes of White and Partey should start the season IMO:

Rice, Timber etc will get their time, but we're going to lose some cohesion if we throw too many of them in from the off.

Phil That Havertz throughball to Trossard was promising to see. 3-4 of those attempts a game will do so much for us. Good shout on him being the new acquisition toggled into the XI for our season opener.

Too early to make conclusions, whilst players are getting their fitness up and learning their roles.

lorddulaarsenal wellit doesn't work at the moment. Rice looks unfit and both he and Hazard haven't adapted yet so don't get the ball enough. Partey has to start at the base of midfield.

lorddulaarsenal agreed, especially when Arteta has, as far as I know - I haven't been paying much attention - has been fielding different line ups in each game. The automatisms will come once the players have bedded in and settled down.
