On a related note, I also think a bit too much has been made of Ramsdale's errors in pre-season. Yes, they're lapses in judgement but they're nowhere near as heinous as have been made out (or comparable to the mistake versus Southampton). Again, I'll make the point that the demands of modern-day goalkeeping are insanely high; something as simple as the decreasing weight in the footballs used makes the flight of the ball much harder to judge than it would have been 10-20 years ago. And that's not even mentioning the fact that 'keepers now have to be capable on the ball, which diminishes the amount of training allocated to core goalkeeping skills.
