Declan "Deccers" Rice

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

Bring him in dammit.

Qwiss

Coombs agree, both fantastic players. I think having Rice, Zubi, MLS and Bruno for our 2 deep mid positions would be great though. Its the sort of quality that may see proper rotation from Arteta.

tazmania

This guy has insane determination and will hurt himself doing this while everyone else pussy foots their way out

Segway

tazmania Unreal 😂 What a player.

est

He looked absolutely knackered coming off. Hope he's not playing through injury.

MistaT

est he was covering for White non stop, probably just gassed

CPM

Zubimendi looked good today, he needs to play and help Declan manage his minutes.

Claudius

We should just do this type of press conference

JazzG

Don Pacifico

Didn't watch the video but he's often.dropping back into defence to allow one of the back four to progress the ball. Looked like Bruno did the same versus Ipswich.

Qwiss

Don Pacifico MLS has done it loads this season too. Its like saying Havertz is a CM again though.

FEBravo

the DM dropping back in the centre of defence in position is an old thing. Busquests is the first one I remember doing it then it became quite a standard tactic. .

Please don't.

Doc

probably that he has played all his games this season as the 6, were last year it was a mixture of 6 & 8 (were he would drop back less often)

Happy that he has established himself in that role now, suits him and the team more... his passing has come on quite a lot since he first joined which has helped significantly

MistaT

I’m all for it.

Though he was stifled as a further forward 8. Never got much offensively from him there, though he certainly covered the pitch well defensively.

I think it worked really well with Jorginho but we had a lot of players around him (Havertz. Odegaard, Saka & Trossard/Martinelli) performing at a high level.

Cannon

Its him and Zubi for the new look no 6 role (tactically aware) and MLS and BG for the CM/8 role (creative progressors/passers).

RowJimmy

MLS has also dropped in between the center backs pretty often. Generally I've been struck by how much we retain shape as players move into different positions.

Big Willie Champ

Missed the last 15 or so minutes but fuck me, just saw the Rice incident. Wtf was he thinking. That's something I'd expect from little shits like Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva, but not one of our players. Certainly not Declan "Mr. Nice Guy" Rice who's meant to be one of our cool heads. That was actually brain dead by him.

QuincyAbeyie

Big Willie Champ he'd be missing the next three games for that. Lost his head completely.

Qwiss

Big Willie Champ it was very out of character. I think he got away with it because he's Declan Rice. If it had been Merino he probably walks.

JazzG

Big Willie Champ I think the result got to him, unlike him though it should be said.
