Mirth one of the things I like about this forum is that when someone bangs on about something like Rice becoming captain most people cut through the underlying chauvinism of it. Sicario can have his basic ass twitter opinions, we can question them and I don't think that's a big deal.

I don't think it's racist to want Rice to be captain (Tony famously criticised Arteta for not making him one this summer, although I found it weird then too; maybe he'd been taken in by the same talking points?) but it is a bit insane when you see how how authorative Gabriel is in the squad. You could even make a better argument for Saka. Those two have been at the club longer too, and I value continuity in a captain. Give the players a few years to show their true colours and then we can talk. One of our biggest mistakes in all my years watching Arsenal was making Gallas captain in his second or third season for instance.

If Rice does this 5 times each season he can be captain of whatever he wants, heck he can be the Pope and I'll start tithing to the church of Rice as well.

Yeah those were the only others that came to mind for the bend and precision. Beckham in particular for how important the moment was too.
You could have had another Courtois and the rest of the team on the goal line and still noone gets close to it.

Always been pretty 'meh' towards that Ronaldo vs Portsmouth one.. Just think it balloons over or hits the wall 99 times out of 100. Not sure he ever scored a free kick again after that, despite the further 1500 more he took.

I like Juninho vs Bayern, Zola v Spurs, Payet vs Palace and Beckham vs Everton.

Back in those days it was basically impossible to bend a ball like that too, they were too heavy. He must've punted it with an insane force. If he hadn't gotten a curl on that shot it would have exited the stadium.
