glad to see people coming around to rice as an 8. it hasn't been without its challenges, but I always envisioned him being an all-encompassing force as an 8 - dropping in as a pivot as needed, charging forward with the ball as needed, makimg runs into the box as needed, and also leading the high press. he has both the brains and the brawn to fulfil the function of 2 midfielders.
and a big shout out to his passing as well. he was absolutely critical as a steadying force when we won possession and rarely gave away possession cheaply. very important when you're in a cauldron like the bernabeu
