I mean the numbers in terms of their home form that were popping out before, during and after Sunday's performance showed perfectly well why this was the case.
They don't lose at the Etihad, they don't fail to score at the Etihad. We've just about broken the model with how much we restricted them.
The one thing I'd say about the title race is that we've nothing in particular to fear from supposedly difficult away ties at Old Trafford and TH Stadium.
Not that those are easy matches, but you wouldn't be mad to be pencilling us in for a win as the most likely outcome beforehand.
Our season long form has been every bit as good as Liverpool and City's … I think we have "overperformed" less than Liverpool if anything, as the points we've dropped have often been gratuitous. If they are supposed to effortlessly win all their remaining matches, the same should be said of us.
