Just feel we need someone who is more composed on the ball out there especially as we’re usually camped outside the opponents box

lorddulaarsenal I think he sees him as a Kai alternative. He probably doesn’t have the aerial threat, but his off-the ball movement, ability to beat a man on the dribble, skill shooting quickly with both foot are real assets we can exploit.

Play him exclusively up top. I get the idea of him as an 8, but I reckon the likes of Martinelli suffer for it. Even when he plays a forward pass there's no pace or fizz to it. I actually like him as 9.

He's not getting on the ball enough generally, which can be okay if you're a forward but not great when you're in midfield.

goon having rewatched the game, thought he was good there. Same as in the Community shield. He held the ball up well, linked up, was an aerial threat, worked hard.

Two things I thought he could do better (same theme) was to shoot the ball earlier versus looking for the perfect shot, and to pass with more zip

goon he has the right presence for a 9 but his touch, finishing, etc are way off for him to be any sort of long term solution there. IMO he's our 3rd best CF, maybe 4th if you include Trossard and frankly we don't have a single CF who's worthy of leading the line for this club week in week out.

Think he did a decent job in terms of how he opened up variety of play within the team against Liverpool; tactically it worked well. But not sure he's a long-term option given his equally prevalent deficiencies in that position.

Don Pacifico agree with this. He might do some of the basics but he's not a goal scorer and never will be it's exactly who he has been in his time in the prem. Which then puts us in the position of we still need a forward who can get the goals we need and we don't really want him on the end of the chances.

Ultimately I think this signing was a big mistep for the money we've paid given the challenges we had in the squad and what we knew about him before he came it didn't warrant that in my opinion.

Qwiss I desperately want a killer forward. Only thing is within the league right now, there are only two difference maker forwards - Salah and Haaland. Everyone else is relatively compressed quality-wise. I wouldn’t break the bank for anyone in this league. I’m worried that whoever we would get at striker in the winter would get the same cool reception as, say, Havertz. Would rather the big forward spend happened in the summer.

Claudius As much as I'd love someone who can score like Salah or Haaland I don't think its a realistic prospect even in the summer, the only 2 players likely to give you a high chance at that are Mbappe and Osimhen. Seems impossible for us to get the former and highly unlikely to get the latter. We made our mistake last season not signing a striker and dropping so much money on Havertz. Thats going to keep haunting us.

I'd have Havertz as a striker option at the moment but not a starter. He can be a plan B unless he starts scoring more. I'm of the opinion there is little between our strikers in terms of effectiveness but they are all very different in style so go for a horses for courses approach until someone finds some goal scoring form.

Id like to persist with him a bit up top if we aren't signing a quality option, see if he can find a bit of form.. He will never be prolific and its not something I would want long term but I don't think there is much between him, Eddie and the current form Jesus..

For me, there ae a few additional benefits to it. It gets him out of midfield which has been real painful to watch, which free up Rice or others to get more game time there & it also means Jesus can be used as a viable rotation option on the wings, we are going to need a genuine 3rd option there in the second half of the season, and I don't see anyone else in the squad capable of it..
