Its getting better, albeit slowly, feel like he is gaining more confidence to be able to hold on to the ball more, hopefully he can continue to improve in that aspect and pick out better passes more consistently... but you can see his off the ball movement is really starting shine... Goals have done him a world of good..
Looks like this might be Arteta long term plan of how to solve the midfield. Ode is definitely coming more consistently deeper now. That's freeing up space for Kai to make more forward runs but it is also helping fill the lack of creativity from deep, which lets Rice do his thing of being everywhere and dominating the midfield. It plays to Kai and Rice's strength, while sacrificing Ode attacking threat a bit, wasn't too sure if overall it would be worth it, but Odegaard's a genius & is already finding ways to still impact the game.
