Anyway Havertz is ok but he isn't enough on his own as a CF option. We needed another striker and didn't get it. Arteta finally realised what everyone else with any sense knew, that Jesus isn't close to good enough. So now he plays Havertz non-stop. Havertz isn't a non-stop, nailed on sort of player though. He should be doing what Trossard has been doing, Trossard should be starting a bit less and we should have another CF.

He's tall and has great endurance, but he's not explosive or particularly strong. So when he's off his game, he has very little to offer.

Yup. Agree with all this. Wish we’d managed to get Sesko. He definitely did what was right for him but we could use more good attacking bodies.

Every team plays their main striker 99% of the time. I can't think of any team who rotates their strikers like you're advocating. Either Havertz is the main striker or you replace him with someone else who is.

I think Gyokeres would succeed in the PL. The guy looks like prime Diego Costa without the antics. Think it just took time for Gyokeres to develop into this (and teams to figure out how to use him), similar to how Kane was mediocre at Leceister. Falcao left Porto at like 25, and look how good he was before his knee blew up.

His profile is what we need. Someone fast, physical, strong and well rounded. He's ruthless when he gets one on one, see that second goal where he just smashes it into the top corner. He could push us a PL title like Costa did for Chelsea.

Gyokeres is really putting up insane numbers, I've seen players in Portugal do well but 16 in 10 is ridiculous

yeah i can see that. but that's why you take a flyer when he's in the championship, not when he's at a club that's quite skilled at price gouging. but our scouting knowledge doesn't seem to be better than fans so we didn't know he existed.
