All of those guys are first choice at their current clubs, so first we'd need to convince them to come here to perform a rotational role as they aren't clear upgrades on Havertz (aside from Isak). Sorloth, Dovbyk, Guirassy and Solanke all moved this summer, and I suspect will be first choice strikers at their clubs. Other strikers that moved who werent on the list include Zirkzee and Alvarez. I would have definitely taken Alvarez but I don't think City would have sold him to us. Zirkzee really could go either way. He's got big potential, but could equally end up as a big donkey.
Every player that I listed aside from Isak, Openda and David is also 26+. So we would be at a serious risk of spending big money on another Lacazette i.e. signing a striker at his peak with a good goal record who just isn't top drawer.
We did make a move for a striker in the summer (Sesko) who rejected us, and I suspect the reason we went for him over those players listed is that his potential exceeds the current options.
The striker market is currently piss poor, as evidenced by the lack of top strikers outside of Haaland and Mbappe (Lewandowski and Kane are on their last legs). I watched Sesko last season, and frankly he looked crap despite his obvious potential in terms of speed and power. The fact that he's one of the better young strikers around is indicative of how poor the market is., but he is still very young and very raw so if he could refine his game then he could be a star.
