He’s quite erratic technically so will no doubt frustrate at times, but he’s able to hurt any team and step up when it counts. I love the way he gets in to the box and is able to get a chance away. His heading is particularly impressive.

Potential is massive. Great base physically and I think Arteta is the kind of manger he needs to realise improvement

Always rated this guy and certainly didn't ignore him entirely and then suddenly started praising him the moment we were rumored to sign him, so I'm looking forward to see what he can do for us. Should be good.

You can’t compare Havertz to Willock. Wilock is like all the other players we have been trying to shed for years. Completely unsuited to this team. Havertz is a technical and flexible player. I also went and looked at his numbers and video again. His pressing is good, it’s Chelsea’s team pressing that is bad. This is a good example of a Wenger style rehabilitation buy.

This guy is coming in with such low expectations from Arsenal fans. I really think he will be fantastic for us, especially in those games where teams go low block I think he'll be a great asset.

Big game performer as well, a bit heavy on the price but happy we are getting him.

I wonder if we'll continue to press in a 4-4-2? And if we do, will Havertz be the one pushed up alongside Jesus with Ødegaard dropping back? I suspect that is what will happen.

It'll be interesring to see how that changes us in transition because in theory, Ødegaard's dribbling and passing should be more useful deeper and Havertz running power and strength/aerial ability would bring another dimension to our counter-attack.

Ricky1985 thought that too but at the same time Odegaard had one of the highest contributions for most goals from midfield last season so it’s a gamble to lose that by making him play deeper

It's also along those lines that makes me believe Havertz can be so useful to us - he has the technique and intelligence to play in small spaces, but also has the athleticism, speed and work-rate to be a great big space, transition player. The players who can be effective in both scenarios are rare.

I think we play 2 up too as Ricky describes. Havertz can press. Will also be useful when we need to launch the ball long as Havertz can help Jesus with stretching the field and getting aerial balls. We will be more versatile with him both on the press and countering the press

jesus as an on-the-ball creator, with havertz running off him into space. add in the usual stylings of saka, ode and martinelli and I can see that being a nightmare to mark. jesus and havertz just have to somehow find their finishing boots. hopefully their inefficiency is offset by the sheer glut of chances they're going to create

odegaard will probably have to sacrifice a bit of his game higher up the pitch, which is a shame as that side of his game was developing beautifully last season. he arguably showed better finishing ability than havertz. he might become more of a middle third player, but i don't want him sitting too deep. he needs to be close to the action, always combining and linking things up

Gazza M if Odegaard is scoring less but we have another good box presence, that’s fine. I also expect a big season from Martinelli. That boy is nowhere near his peak.

I dont think it's a trade-off we have to worry about with Ødegaard. If we can become more accurate and controlled in the build-up, and more dominant as a result, both Havertz and Ødrgaard will spend almost the entire 90 minutes camped in our attacking third trying to pick apart the opposition.

In transition, it might change the dynamics and possibly affect Ødegaard's numbers, as I mentioned and GM elaborated on, but I see it as more likely a net positive. Ødegaard will still get plenty of goals and assists.

I am quite surprised by the opinions on his technical ability. I saw him as someone who just wasn't enjoying himself at Chelsea. I don't think anyone there could over the last 2 seasons. He looked top tier in Germany technically. He did so for Chelsea most of the time too.

I don’t think it will have a big impact on Odegaard personally. It’s not like he goal hangs, he usually just arrives late in the box at the right time. There’s no reason he can’t keep doing that.

Interested to see how it changes the dynamic of the attack though.
