JazzG You don't even know why they have been laid off but already taken a side.
I mean according to the Athletic the club has said the reason is because
Arsenal have told staff that redundancies at the club are being planned.
The club told staff the intention is to make 60 positions redundant in a bid to make significant savings, with cuts set to be across a number of departments.
You think there are mysterious, hidden reasons beyone what the club just said is a cost cutting exercise? What's more likely?
- The club firing these 60 people because they have been poor performers/were not adhering to the club's ethical ethos (haha)/were breaking confidentiality clauses/whatever else you can think of.
Or
- Senior management focussing their penny pinching (sorry the club said "savings makings") in areas which have the least financial impact (ah the good old covid days where needed to cover costs by sacking another 60 odd staff and Gunnersaurus).
It's well beyond the time where we think the club is the classy club we thought it was whilst we were growing up. From the Partey situation, ESL fiasco, our deals with Visit Rawanda/Deel, those with the Emirates, how we are doing what we laughed at United for doing when they got rid of the support staff at their club a couple years back.
We just aren't that classy a club. Let me be clear, I don't think we're anywhere near the worst, but since football became such a commercial commodity I don't think there are (m)any clubs at the top of the game which aren't morally corrupt to a certain extent.
