Not concerned about Tomiyasu, what happens, happens. This guy is the right sided Zinchenko. Arteta wants to be able to switch it up and still play good football. Exciting times.

7 defenders in a 25 man squad I think. So 1 of Tomiyasu, Tierney, and Holding stays, 2 go. I'd keep Tomiyasu as the most versatile of them.

Yeah, Arteta loves versatility and Tomiyasu can play a couple of different positions and systems which Holding and Tierney can't. Tomi's biggest weakness is the fact that he's barely averaged 30+ games a season since 2019.
Tomi is only versatile when he's fit. And TBH he's not great at LB. He's an excellent RB and pretty good at CB. Fitness is the issue though. I don't think we'll get rid of him yet but I reckon you need 8 defenders if he's one of them.
