Think about how badly they were bent over for a player that came up through their youth ranks and left them on a free way back when, who they rebought for a 100m British transfer record fee and crazy wages, only for said player to leave them for free for a second time. 🤣

I was thinking about this last night too, and also whether he gives Arteta and this team the peace of mind to keep and use Tierney. If we sell Tierney, this is how I was thinking we would stack up:
LB: Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, Kiwior
RB: White, Timber, Tomiyasu

Swap Kiwior for Gabriel, who is both the better defender and just as good in possession, then yeah.

If you really want possession in favour of end product then swap in White for Saka, go 5 at the back, swap Jorginho for Havertz and play him next to Partey. It'll be the return of the horseshoe of death.

He really is. And I don't think he has an insecure touch either. Might look slightly awkward to some but he's great on the ball. Kiwior might be good on the ball, apparently he has come in with a reputation for that but i havent seen anything of him before we bought him other than at the WC, and i dont even remember him from there.

Although from the little he's played so far he's comfortably better than Holding on the ball, I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think "shit, this guy is really good on the ball". At least nothing to make me think he'd be better than Gabriel at that even if we ignored how Gabriel is on another level defensively.
