JazzG I'd go further. In my opinion the owners and investors of football clubs shouldn't be owning or investing in other football businesses: leagues and associations; separate teams (that could ever compete or exchange players, obviously women's teams are fine) other than development or B teams; football related services such as sports science, scouting and recruitment, football data science, if these services are ever on-sold; sponsors; stadium and facility construction companies; and so on.
The system common in Brazil and elsewhere where some players' careers are part-owned by agents should also be stamped out.
There are way too many brazen conflicts for multi-club groups and of course it's worse when it comes to the likes of PIF who control a whole league. And there's a lot of other shit on the way. I see no issue with clearing off most of it—it's not as if the sport benefits from these distortions.
