Monchi joins Villa to team up with Emery again.
One to watch. Villa already have a very decent squad and since Emery took over they were in top 4 form. If Monchi signs some smart players they can be a surprise like Newcastle.
Brilliant if true.
That would be amazing. Drury is singlehandedly the best football commentator I ever heard
He's incredibly cheesy and many will probably find it cringe, but I've completely bought into it. 😆 Basically a less silly Ray Hudson.
Loved Drury since the terrible commentary on This Is Football 2002.
And good riddance, Tyler is a bitter, senile cunt these days.
Drury actually gives Arsenal goals some positive enthusiastic commentary whereas Tyler lately has nothing but disappointment whenever we score.
IBL
In fairness, he barely reacts to any goal. You get more upbeat commentary on funerals.
Not really - 'It's up for grabs now' is still iconic after 3 decades.
IBL Tyler's given plenty of oomph and been the backbeat for our title wins from '98 onwards. He's just old and should have retired after THAT Aguero goal.
Aren't all commentators just a bit shite?
Give me Barry Davies.
I wonder with Tyler it is just age has caught up with him. He’s 77 years old now so not entirely surprising that he is as enthusiastic as he was 20 years ago. I’ll always remember his commentary for Wiltord at Old Trafford and Arshavin’s goal against Barca.
Drury is very good, I hope people don’t get too sick of him overhyping everything!
“Here they come again, it's REYESSSSSSSSSSSS. Stand up for the Champions!”
Remember this like it was yesterday.
Rohit That was great. They were still showing the replay of the equaliser and almost missed it.
My favourite was the final goal in 97/98. "It's Adams, put through by Steve Bould would you BELIEVE IIIIIIIIIIIIT? THAT sums it all up." Used to have that season review on VHS back in the day. Quite a few great bits of commentary from him in that season. Vieira's goal at home vs United is another one I remember.
Very harsh to sack him, he played a massive part in keeping them up. No loyalty in the game!
Even discounting loyalty, it seems an odd decision to sack someone who took the weakest squad in the league from bottom to 15th. Don't think anyone would have predicted that.
Reckon there must be some internal disagreement behind this.
He was one of the contenders for manager of the year. Many neutral fans even voted him ahead of Arteta in bigsoccer forum.
Must be disagreement with his board
Nvm, there are no rows. Just the owner decision. Insane
They must have someone big lined up to replace him.
Who could Bournmouth attract thats going to be a big enough name to warrant sacking O'Niell? I don't get it at all.
Andoni Iraola to take over. No wonder.
One of the hottest young manager in the market thus far. Probably the biggest young managerial talent since... AVB
that's a good get and a very proactive move.
Sheffield Wednesday have also sacked their manager after getting promotion.
