And heard the first goal was a blatant foul on Kiwor, funny how VAR picked up on White in the Leicester game yet seems to miss incidents like this. VAR has highlighted how incompetent the refs are here, even with replays they can’t get decisions right.

JazzG some bad decisions made more sense when it was one ref at whatever angle making the call. Now with VAR so many decisions make no sense. What about Caicedo with his arms fully around Gabriel in the box? How is that not called as a foul. The ref can't see every tussle, isn't that exactly the sort of thing VAR should be calling?

goon same, it was the last thing I watched before going bed, next morning it's still on my mind. Come to think of it I may have had a dream/nightmare about it but woke up so quickly to get ready for work that I can't really remember whether it went any better in my mind 🤣

Disappointing end to a very enjoyable season. Let's see what the summer and next campaign hold.

I keep re-living the moment we went 2-0 up against Liverpool, I actually thought we basically had one hand on the trophy in that moment man.

Then I think did that one goal before half time change everything? Forget all the talk about Saliba, Holding, tactics, mistakes and pressure, is that all it boils down to? Conceding one jammy goal after a scuffed shot?

Then I move onto the pen miss against West Ham. It’s mental torture.

People putting too much emphasis on possession rather than actual progression and maybe some awful takes from the commentary team. Brighton barely had a looking until they scored.

We were incredibly wasteful in certain situations.

I feel a lot better after the Brighton defeat. It just confirms to me we are not good enough for the title, we didn't bottle it, and even if we got the 6 extra points we should have in those 3 games we still would have lost the league because City have a perfect winning run to the end. That itself is enough for me.

Unless they gonna drop 4 points or something in the last 3 games then we will live to regret this season

I've a feeling if we'd played at 2 o'clock yesterday we'd have been a lot better. This teams been running on vibes for a lot of the season and I think Citys win yesterday probably took the last of that out of us. Its been a good season, if anyone had offered us over 80 points at the start of the season we'd have taken it gladly. The best teams come back stronger from disappointment, now its time for the Kroenkes to show they are serious. They've backed Arteta to here through an awful lot of lows, no back him to reach the highest highs.

Not everything will always go in our way, champions learn how to adapt, not sulk. We got to control the narrative, not the other way round.

Sicario2 all this faux outrage is really boring. I find really hard to get so angry at the players and the manager after that season.

Qwiss I don't hold much against the players but I'm really annoyed and disappointed with Arteta. I'm not angry with him because I recognise the work he's done in putting us in this position, but I can't look at the team's performance in the last month or so and think he comes out it with any real credit.

Tam he made mistakes but so does every manager. Its easy to say he should have done better but he's done very well. I've never been an Arteta stan, nor am I now but I do feel much of the backlash now is completely over the top. I'm very happy to pick through all the things I think he got wrong but we need to recognise he got more right. What he has to show now is that he can learn from those mistakes and do better next year, same as the players.

The biggest failure of Arteta this season what that he couldn't manage even a whiff of a cup run. He needs to figure out how to get his second string performing.

I do think Arteta's fucked it up somehow, and perhaps this sort of moment is just his weakness.

I get the feeling we were exceptionally well prepared for the season but his methods have led to early burnout. It'll make it a bit hard to trust a big start again next time round—if we're lucky enough for it to happen.

DiabyKungFu I thought we looked a bit more likely to score when it was 0-0. Then they score off of a weird/bad scenario. Then game state stuff took over. It definitely wasn’t great from us but some people are exaggerating how bad it was. We most definitely have had a number of worse non-City performances this season.

is very tough to take. Still, I remember crying my eyes out on my own at my Granddad's when Leeds beat us in 2003 to hand the title to United and I don't feel as bad as I did then. I think part of that is the absolute clarity I have that Manchester City are miles ahead of us and are going to be league champions because they have integrated an absolute goal machine into their already formidable side. As someone said on Twitter last night, coming second to Lance Armstrong isn't really coming second, is it?

We lost the title at Southampton. I am 100% sure of that. This was just a bad loss. If we still win it will down to a massive bottle job by City. I think our team was good enough to win a 'non city' league. For going 1 on 1 with City we needed a bit more in terms of players/resources.

I still cannot understand the two home performances .. Southampton and Brighton. Despite the dropped points from winning positions v Liverpool and West Ham we were still in it. But to play like that at home with a league title on the line is ridiculous. Questions need to be asked about that , not just the manager but the players as well.
