Clrnc Quite annoying to read back all the predictions and people who said that a draw at West Ham is a good result because we will be 7 points ahead when we visit Etihad and all the pressure will be on City.

With the 9, or 11 point lead we should have, there would be some pressure on them. With it remaining in their hands even if this is a draw, it isn't. It's pretty disappointing stuff given how readily accessible at least the 9 point lead should have been.

Yeah it’s a toss up between Martinelli and Jesus for me. Jesus is the better player but isn’t in form.

Much rather Trossard on the left though. Better yet Nelson, with Trossard in the Xhaka role.

exactly. like if i had to choose between getting the most out of martinelli and jesus, i'm taking martinelli everytime. we don't even know what the most out of martinelli is. but we do know that the most out jesus is more goal chances to squander.

Not too worried about our forward situation. With Jesus back, it’s the one resilient part of the team. We have 4 excellent players who would start for City and Pool, who can play any of the 3 front roles. Jesus was possibly our best player before World Cup and has come back to score 3 goals. Trossard and Martinelli are our in form players.

I would like to see the same in midfield next year. If we go big and have eg Partey, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Caicedo and Xhaka as the primary options there, we will be deep and flexible. That will give us time to see how ESR, Lokonga and Vieira develop. And if they do, they will replace Xhaka and Partey.

I can't wait. Biggest league game we've played since Henry got that hat-trick against Liverpool in the 4-2 win at Highbury in 2004. That came during a period when things were looking bleak also and then Henry went and did what Henry did. We need that kind of performance from someone - there's a chance to write your name into the history books on Wednesday night and I hope the boys go and do it. .

If we win, and we won't, I'd still probably have City as favorites at this point.

nah, have you seen their schedule? they aren't winning every game and if they lose to us, they need to win every game.

playing a game every 3 days, they could draw any of those league games. i can see brighton actually beating them. everton away in between the real madrid games is also primed for an upset.

Their schedule's very tough in May. Two matches a week and few genuinely easy ones. Cannon Stats did some modelling that predicted a very high likelihood of City dropping at least some points. That'd also be consistent with their form all season. Same for us of course.

The concern is more it's hard to imagine us winning all our games, especially Newcastle away and Brighton. It's not like that year where both Liverpool and Man City won like their last 10 games or something.

If we can regain our form then it not unthinkable or at least beating them points wise for the remainder of the games.

Many will say this is a must win game but a draw keeps us within a point of city with a number of games to play for, not a bad position considering we have shat the bed recently.

If we can't sort out the defense though, it's over and they will probably wrap it up with a couple of games to go. Must Not Lose.

Agree with the point above about even if city did drop points I expect that we will drop points possibly in a couple of fixtures at least so that's the main problem I see for us and it's not about city.

We just have to do enough to keep it going. We could draw on Wednesday and let's say against Newcastle and we'd still be in it after our penultimate game against Forest after which City would need 6 points from Chelsea and Brighton to avoid it going to the last day.

Mental gymnastics aside, just stay in it. Force City to win as many games as possible and who knows what can happen. City have dropped points to Everton at home and Forest this season, dropping points to Everton and Fulham away wouldn't be that much of a shock, never mind the harder games.
